JJ Bachant Brown

JJ was a member of Escambia Search and Rescue (ESAR) located in the Panhandle of Florida for the past 11 years. During that time she served as an officer of the K9 Unit, was the K9 Commander, and the Assistant Director. She currently is a single resource. She has her NASAR SarTech II certification as well as being a NASAR Canine SarTech III – Area Search Evaluator and a NNOCDS Instructor. Her first SAR dog, Ivan – a black lab named after Hurricane Ivan – is semi-retired. They have been certified in NASAR Canine SarTech III – Area Search and NOCSAR K9 Area Search. She and her current Area Search K9, Onxy – another black lab – are certified in NASAR Canine SarTech III – Area Search, NOCSAR K9 Area Search, and NNOCDS Area Search Standard. Her third dog, Luna – an American Bulldog – is a work in progress for HRD. JJ owns and operates her business The DogSmith of Florida’s Gulf Coast were she is a certified Pet Care Technician and is in the final process of completing her professional dog training certification and dog behavior consulting diploma through DogNostics. She is also a professional member of The Pet Professional Guild (PPG).
