Executive Summary:

 

Laurie Strite is a search and rescue team leader and lead K9 trainer for the KlaasKids Regional Search Operations Center. She is a Wilderness First Responder and a NASAR SAR TECH I certified crew chief. She has worked five different K9’s in three different disciplines. She currently works K9 Quest and K9 Angel in Human Remains Detection and K9 Junior and K9 Skye in trailing. When not working her own K9's or attending seminars, Laurie loves instructing where she can share her experiences and continue to learn from students. Laurie retired from IBM where she worked as a project manager. She has a Master’s Degree in Telecommunications and spent most of her career in the field of computer networking. Laurie and other team members have developed  a collaborative computing environment that allows multiple search planners to work together on large missing person cases where Incident Command is sending hundreds of emergent volunteers into the field.
